Kes Rap Part 3

Final part of the Kes Rap. Thanks for over 1000 views of each part everyone. Lyrics: Now Mr Farthing teaches a much better lesson/ ’cause they have some objectives and don’t cause depression/ In the kids who attend as they sit in their seats/ He wants facts about Tibbut and he asks them to speak/ “He always trying to go with girls at night”/ “He smokes” “Do I neek” but both claims are right/ Mr Farthing’s not interested in punishing Tibbut/ But he’s hacked off with Guthrie as he dropped him in it/ “Think of an incident that has happened to you”/ “That is true” is the task that the class has to do/ But Casper didn’t listen and is destined to fail/ “Come on Casper, don’t stand there like a nail”/ “Come on, come on” the kids encourage him a bit/ “He’s got this hawk sir, he’s crackers over it”/ As Billy tells all bout the kestrel he’s trained/ The “jesses” and “swivel” are the words he explains/ As Billy explains how the training moved on/ “Do you want to hear about that?” “Aye then go on”/ Now Billy’s explanations are detailed and long/ He says that when Kes flew she “came like a bomb”/ “like lightning” she flew “her head stood still”/ “not a sound from wings” the class clearly thrilled/ For once in his life Billy don’t feel like a joke/ As he walks past the corner in the yard where kids smoke/ “Don’t thee like company, they say thee mother does”/ And then he implies Billy’s no relation to Jud/ “What is he, my sister?” is Billy’s smart answer/ Macdowell’s hit by coal thrown straight at him by Casper/ The fight attracts kids from all over the yard/ But Billy’s no match as Macdowell’s too hard/ But then Farthing appears and breaks things up quickly/ He points out “He’s just about your size Casper, isn’t he?” “I’ll fetch me dad” Macdowell says again/ “My dad’s champion of the word what will your do do then?”/ “Do you understand Macdowell do you understand it?” Farthng asks twice/ Before counselling Billy about his crap life/ Farthing listens intently to Billy’s long whine/ “When do you fly this hawk of yours?” “Dinnertimes”/ “I’ll come round then if it’s OK” Farthing requests/ But his interest is genuine and he’s not a sex pest/ Now as Billy snipes sparrows with his air gun/ There’s a note with a bet that Jud wants put on/ He pockets the money and carves up the meat/ As Farthing drives his white Fiat looking for Billy’s street/ “I’ll go by the fence eh?” Farthing suggests/ “It’s alreet” says Billy and Farthing’s impressed/ With Billy’s new prowess as Kes swoops and dives/ “Most exciting thing I’ve ever seen in me life!” Billy asks Farthing to come sit in the shed/ But it’s not anything dodgy as I previously said/ There’s a feeling that Farthing attempts to explain/ “When its flying there’s something about it makes you feel strange/ “Is it cos its quiet?” Billy interjects/ “That’s it aye!” “It’s instinctive, it’s a form of respect!”/ Billy heads to the bookies a few minutes later/ And asks for advice from the man with the paper/ “Would you back em?” he asks and considers Jud’s wager/ “I can’t see it myself” so Billy throws Jud’s bit of paper/ He pockets Jud’s cash and heads off down the street/ And calls into the chip shop and gets given free beef/ (Ta!) Back in the maths lesson Billy’s not revising/ He’s looking outside because Jud’s on the horizon/ Jud’s threats at the are making his heart beat faster/ “Isn’t that that illustrious brother of yours Casper?” “What’s the matter, don’t you feel well?” That an understatement ;cause he’s as scared as hell/ Billy sneaks around the school just like Solid Snake/ As Jud infiltrates the toilets leaving doors kicked in his wake/ He interrogates the pupil in the cubicle he sees/ “Have you seen our Billy?” “Aye he’s in here with me!”/ Billy runs past the gymnastics down into the boiler room/ And he sits against the wall now hidden underneath the school/ After a kip Billy heads back up to see his mates/ But all this laying low has made him several minutes late/ The employment man is here and he’s the next one to be seen/ And Gryce is not impressed with him, “where the hell have you been?”/ As Billy takes a seat there’s noone else waiting there/ And then a kid’s mam arrives and sits beside him on the chair/ The kid just isn’t interested and him mam begins to whinge/ “What job are you after then, a job on the bins”/ “Well then Casper, what kind of job have you got in mind?”/ Billy shrugs his shoulders as the guy helps him decide/ “There are good opportunities in mining” “I ain’t going down pit!” “Have you any hobbies?” But that’s the end of it/ His talk of hobbies in Casper they have stirred/ A feeling that his brother Jud has messed with Casper’s bird/ As he legs it through the town a sudden panic in his head/ he frantically arrives home and investigates the shed/ He explains to passers by that it’s his brother that he seeks/ The bookie says if he had Billy “wouldn’t be in one piece”/ He explains to Billy that cause he “hadn’t put bet on”/ “They both came in then did there” “100/6 and 4/1″ “Bloody hell” now frantic Billy stands upon the grass/ But Kes is nowhere near despite his shouting and his gasps/ As his shouts become cries the situation’s getting tense/ Billy wildy swings the lure as he stands upon the fence/ At the site of the nest Casper finally calls it quits/ And he barges through the door “where is ti what’s tha done with it?”/ “Your tea’s going cold here!” Casper doesn’t care/ And accuses Jud who decks him from the comfort of his chair/ Jud is very angry ‘bout the winnings that he’s missed/ “If he’d put that bet on horses .. there woudn’t have been none of this”/ It seems that Billys thieving wasn’t good for Kes’s health/ “I’d have sixteen quid to draw if he kept thieving hands to himself”/ “What’s he upset for?” “’cause he’s killed me hawk instead/ Jud confirms the worst as Billy dives to hide his head/ “Tha’s a big bastard, a big fuckin bastard”/ After taking in the news billy jumps to his feet/ Has a rummage through the bins that are standing in the street/ He finds Kes’ body and he holds it in his hands/ And checks for signs of life as he quietly stands/ Billy mother is appalled as he brings the dead bird in/ Because although he is emotional it has been in the bin/ “Take it away from table anyway Billy”/ His mother doesn’t get it and she thinks he’s being silly/ “It’s only a bird you can get another can’y ya?”/ She can’t stand up to Jud in the absence of his father/ In a final act of courage Billy dares to try his luck/ Using kes’s body as an improvised nunchuck/ Billy’s resigned now as he performs a final act/ And he hacks a shallow grave for Kes with a small one handed axe/ As he covers Kes’ body with handfuls of the earth/ He reflects on what Jud’s betting slip was ultimately worth.
